Synopsis

This play, itself a satire on present-day American foreign policies, attempts to highlight what might have been the real economic factors that led the Greeks into the long and protracted Trojan war. The dismal economic reasons for war, to control the means of production and reproduction, to control land, slaves, and women, would hardly do poetic justice to triumphal themes. They are just not sung about.
