Synopsis

Two young students discuss the absence of their friend, Eklavya, from the digital classroom in the initial days of The Pandemic 2020. This playscript seeks to initiate a conversation with children from backgrounds of privilege about caste and how it intersects with education and basic human rights. Commissioned by IXYPSILONZETT, a theatre magazine published by ASSITEJ Germany, Waiting for Eklavya was published in German translation in their September 2020 issue.
