Synopsis

The train has a deep relationship with small towns, as the means to connect to the Capital or the larger cities. It’s symbolic of aspirations, of dreams & escape strategies. In the fictional town of Paltanganj, the 9.45 Express is inextricably linked to people’s lives. In the Kapoor household, where the Patriarch has passed away, relatives descend and old secrets come tumbling out. Does it bring relationships to fruition or avenge old hurts? The conspiracy of silence that often sits as an invisible elephant in the never to be disclosed conversations of families. Has been an undiscovered zone for me. Writing in Hindi with a World Theatre consciousness informed me. The cast brought it to life. It’s been a discovery, often pushing on regardless of personal loss, inspirational in what Theatre can achieve in the individual’s life.
