Synopsis

The play is based on the famous Bhawalpur Sanyasi Case that caught people's attention in colonial Bengal at the fag end of British rule in India. Sifting through voluminous archival material, the play uses the absurdity of this historical event to comment on the contemporary mediatization of our public discourse through 24-hour news channels and the withering of our capability to tell the truth from untruth.
