Synopsis
'Corrigendum' is part of 'In Memoriam', a double bill comprising 'Addendum' and 'Corrigendum'. As in the first play, the characters find themselves sucked into the system they have unwittingly stepped into. Yet, it must be said at the start that the two stories are different. The characters are different, their circumstances are different, the directions taken in the two stories are distinct. The only thing common to them is the tragic ends. The ‘new economy’ has led to a great deal of investment in real estate. This is largely from rising incomes in the middle and upper classes. It is seen as an investment, with the returns better than from the stock market or fixed deposits or even gold. Owning two or more homes is often ‘the done thing’, even if the additional homes are to be kept locked.
