Synopsis
I am a beached whale. On a stormy afternoon many years ago, a family of three: Mumma, Papa, and Chotu, climbed into me and began to inhabit my cavernous gut. On a day that might actually be many years, Mumma lays down the foundations for a revolution while Chotu does everything in her power to sabotage it. Papa, on the other hand, attempts to win back the love of his life on their twenty-fifth anniversary. All the while, my gut continues to emit a mysterious mist that forces my inhabitants to question their relationship to time, each other, and their place in this world. The Whistler and the Whale Is a play narrated by a beached whale and is part absurdist-satire, and part testimonial to the human heart. It is harrowing, humorous, and filled to the brim with hope.
